This blog is a diary of visual research.

An archive of ‘undisciplined’ meandering.

Glimpses of contemplation, musing, reading, wandering, collecting & gathering. Drawing in silence & sound, light & dark. Deep within this rumination is an honest account of the evolution behind creating, discovering, and traveling down the twisted life path of an artist.

You Were Barely Here

While creating a new light drawing I started to think about the possibility of using this type of drawing as a stencil, as a way of investigating repetition, cycles, impermanence, dispersion and diffusion of breath. The following images are the result of the first experiment in using the original drawing as a stencil with white pigment powder to create an impermanent drawing...one that can disappear with a single breath.

The following three images show the drawing when it was taped to a wall. Watching the pigment falling off the page, gradually loosing the image, willing it to stay, but knowing it was futile. There are still a few sections of the drawing remaining 3 days later but most of it has blown away.
