This blog is a diary of visual research.

An archive of ‘undisciplined’ meandering.

Glimpses of contemplation, musing, reading, wandering, collecting & gathering. Drawing in silence & sound, light & dark. Deep within this rumination is an honest account of the evolution behind creating, discovering, and traveling down the twisted life path of an artist.

Process Update

The following images were random photos taken during the experiment I did with moving images (see previous post) - as a way of drawing/visualising air. In moving forward from this investigation I plan on looking into ways of drawing with air/breath. There are obvious techniques such as air brushing etc but I want to find other ways that air/breath/wind could potentially become the medium rather than the subject.

I also experimented with projecting an image through one of the light drawings. Because it was a digital projector a multitude of coloured light came through:

Also, as a continuation from a previous post (drawing breath as light #3) in which I said I wasn't going to finish this particular light drawing -  I ended up working on it during breaks from the large scaled light drawing I am currently making. The following images are of the finished drawing. I had 4 layers of different material for the one drawing so it was interesting to compare the differences:

Plain Drawing Paper (above)
Transparent grey plastic (above)
Handmade Shoji Paper (above & below)

For the Shoji paper layer I found it interesting to compare the same drawing photographed in shadow and light (above) compared with just light (below)

Spiderweb Tissue Paper (below)
